2 Day - ContourU: Custom Seating SeminarTrack: Clinical
This Two Day Seating Seminar introduces the clinical/functional benefits and application of Custom Simulation/Molding, Reviews Principles of Seating and Positioning as they relate to custom seating, provides detailed information on techniques used to provide effective results in the field, and reviews the ContourU manufacturing/ordering process. This comprehensive course includes significant hands on experience on day two evaluating and fitting wheelchair users for ContourU seating. ContourU Certification and CEU's are provided on completion. #1.45 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are awarded to individuals for attending the Two Day Custom Seating Seminar.
 
Course I LEEP: Power Wheelchair Programming: Strategies for Successful Outcomes (Intermediate)Track: Clinical
Strategic power wheelchair programming is a process involving careful consideration of an individual's physical abilities, cognitive status, environment and choice of driver control to maximize ease of w/c operation and independence. Utilizing a hands-on approach and fictitious clinical profiles, this course will address the transition from MK5 to MK6i electronics as it pertains to driver control programming. So, you know how to make and save changes. Now learn to apply the versatility of Invacare MK Series electronics to problem solve basic to complex issues. (.50 CEU's)
 
Course II LEEP - Positioning and Powered Seating Systems: Strategies for Successful Outcomes (Intermediate)Track: Clinical
Tilt, recline, elevate, power elevating legs... what is the clinical benefit of each? Who is appropriate? How do I justify it as medically necessary? How will the user access these functions independently? How would a caregiver? This seminar is designed for the individual interested in a comprehensive view of powered seating functions. Covered topics include descriptions of powered seating functions such as tilt, recline, elevate and power elevating legs, their clinical and functional benefits, justifying medical necessity and strategies for independent operation with standard and alternative driver controls. Utilizing demonstration, hands-on application, and fictitous clinical profiles this course will address the clinical applications and justifications of powered seating functions and strategies for independent operation. This seminar addresses the transition from MK5 to MK6i electronics as it pertains to powered seating systems and how new developments are enabling easier set-up and more intuitive programming for the clinician, technician or RTS and greater independence for the user. (.5 CEU's)
 
Course III LEEP: What's the Latest in Rehab Reimbursement?Track: Business
This half-day session is designed to provide information on the latest policies, legislation and guidelines that affect reimbursement for rehab equipment. Topics that will be discussed include: documentation for mobility assistive equipment, local coverage determinations, coding updates and competitive bidding. This course will be educational for the RTS, therapists, business owners, office managers, billing staff and others involved in the reimbursement process. (.3 CEU's)
